Pittsburgh, PA, November 12, 2007 James Marczak, President and CEO of SYCOR AMERICAS Inc. is very excited to recap his participation in the recent American Council on Germanys Study Tour to Germany, held on October 22-27, 2007 in Brussels and Berlin.

• I had the honor of being a part of a contingent of 9 persons selected from across the United States to take part in a study tour in Brussels and Berlin.The tour focused on
  many important issues we are facing today, with a special focus on transatlantic policy. Among the many trips meeting highlights included:
  • A private luncheon meeting on "The United States and the European Union
    and the Global Economy: Trade, Finance, and Regulatory Changes" with
    Boyden Gray, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union
  • "Assessing Germanys EU Presidency and the Challenges Ahead" with Prof.
    Dr. Reinhard Bettzuege, German Ambassador to Belgium
  • Meetings at the Council of the European Union in Brussels one day after the
    conclusion of the Lisbon meetings on the EU constitution with Guy Milton,
    Secretariat of the Council on the European Union and Steve Everts, Advisor,
    Cabinet of Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and
    Security Policy, Secretary-General of the European Union
  • "NATO in the 21st Century: The New Transatlantic Security Agenda" with Michael
    Ruehle, Head of the Policy Planning and Speechwriting Section, Political
    Affairs and Security Policy Division, NATO
  • "Coming to Terms with the New Russia" with Hans Ulrich Klose, Member of
    the Bundestag, SPD
  • "The Dual Challenge of Immigration and Integration in Germany" with Dr.

  • The trip was capped off by our attendance at a conference organized by the
    CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group entitled "Germany, Europe and Asia Towards
    a Common Future", at which the following keynote addresses were delivered:
    • "Building Europe Growing Together with Asia" by Angela Merkel,
      Member of the Bundestag, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of
      Germany
    • "Asias Growth Cooperation with Europe" by Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary
      General designated, ASEAN, Former Foreign Minister and Deputy
      Prime Minister of Thailand
    • "Building strong European-Asian companies" by Lakshmi Niwas Mittal,
      Chairman of the Board, Arcelor Mittal Steel

The afternoon was highlighted by a speech from David Cameron, Member of Parliament, Leader of the Conservative Party, UK.
